天晴 APPARE! is a beautiful event devoted to Japanese culture. Aside from the shopping, there are live events and a lot of beautiful vignettes to take photos at.
Katoributa (蚊取り豚) are little ceramic incense holders that look a little like pigs, with big mouths for air flow and eye holes for the incense to waft through. Tanuki are racoon dogs- like kitsune, they can get crafty and pick up tricks, and like transforming into other things, there's a famous story about one who turns into a teapot. This tanuki has taken the form of a katoributa instead.
Touch to light or extinguish the incense inside. Pick the coil incense color with the HUD. PBR with fallback textures and Blinn-Phong textures, 1 LI each katoritanuki.

Setsubun (節分) is a traditional Japanese festival day that celebrates the division of the seasons- the end of winter, to be followed by the beginning of spring- which usually falls on February 3. There are a few good luck rituals that are practiced to celebrate it, to protect your household from bad luck for the year ahead- including putting a hiiragi iwashi (柊鰯) by your front door, a holly branch with a roasted sardine head impaled on it. You see, the bad luck oni doesn't like the smell of roasted sardines, and if they do still come close to your door, the holly will poke them in the eye. And they like that even less!
This holly sardine comes mounted in a metal holder to screw onto your house wall, or alone to attach through other means of your choice. PBR with fallback textures and non PBR texture versions for both included, 1 Land Impact each fish head on a stick.

Happy year of the horse! APPARE! is celebrating the new year, and a the kagami mochi 鏡鼠 this year has been decorated as a horse. The mochi stack with daidai comes in or out of the tray, the offering tray 三方 and paper, together and separately are also included, 1 LI each piece.
And a new set of 菰樽/飾り樽 sake barrels decorated for the new year, with a maneki neko and a horse version, a kumade (rake decorated with lucky symbols to rake in luck) in normal and horse version, zodiac clay bell, and a yawatauma (a traditional wooden horse of Aomori Prefecture). Stacks and single barrels, 1 to 2 LI each at about a standard 4-to 72 liter size of about .65 meters tall barrel, with extra shading options to choose from if you are picky in how you stack! The spooky season approaches, so I'm starting to garnish my drinks appropriately at Anthology. A classic martini and a shot, with eyeballs. They, uh, might be extra dirty and full of vitreous humor in there. 8 eye colors to choose from with HUD, 5 drink flavors, PBR with fallback or choose non PBR textures even in a PBR viewer. (I'm working my way into 2 variations of PBR glass- one that goes all in for those who have their environment all sorted out, and one that has a bit more oomph to it baked in, as PBR is disappointing if you don't have everything just so.)
I went to this izakaya with a friend (who amusingly hates seafood, whereas if it comes from the sea I'm into it- except, ironically, the fish eyes, I'm not as into that, or the bones, generally) and had an oyster shot half on a dare (it was good though), so yes, you can drink that eyeball. Hold it in left or right hand, drink it in left or right hand, swallowing the eyeball on your first drink or keeping it in your glass so you can keep showing it off. Rezzable versions as well- just decor, and givers for your guests so they can swallow that eyeball too.
And of course the traditional eyeball martini, with the olives replaced by eyeballs. 3 variations on martini, 2 with cocktail sticks that can either be wood or metal with skull heads. Hold or drink these in your left or right hand as well, or rez them as just decor or givers for your guests so they can lurk around your party holding a martini too.

Surf's Up at Collabor88, and I've brought some boards. Traditional fish surfboards, short boards with the cut out tail, are versatile little boards, in a cute shape!
Three designs for Collabor88- great big zombie face pop art (zomboards if you will...and even if you won't, because I will), fishy Bones with designs on the top and the bottom of the board, and ombre color gradients with optional logos on the bottom. 10 to 12 texture options each, with just the board to display, boards propped up on wood stands to display, and boards to carry around under your left or right arm.

The light filled transluscence of Frutiger Aero, but make it fruity-er: some jelly desserts in fruit shapes, for Collabor88! Hold a plate with a jelly in your left hand, hold a spoon full of jelly in either hand, includes versions that will give spoons of jelly to your guests. Rez pieces are 1 LI each, 11 colors of jelly for each fruit. PBR with fallbacks- with mobile viewer now, fallbacks are even more necessary now- or choose non PBR versions entirely even on a PBR viewer if you prefer.

What's a sleepover without pizza? Get deliver from Midnight Pizza for your Slumber Party at Collabor88! Pizza inspired by the skies, all with glowing stars floating above them except for The Moon, which is made of cheese. With the Uberpack, choose stars or no stars with any flavor of pizza. Pair it with a soda, delivered with star shaped ice cubes. All pieces have a HUD to choose from 8 color options with the logo on the box or cup.
Hold a slice of pizza in your right hand, hold and drink the soda in your left, and rez a whole bunch of decor options at 1 LI each piece- empty pizza boxes, open and closed; full pizzas and with pieces removed or being removed or just a singular piece left, in boxes and not in boxes with 2 positions for each piece being removed; paper cups full of soda. "Take Slice" pieces will hide and show a piece removed from the pizza when touched.

Japonica has an extension for its last days, it will be open until the end of the month. I've added a few more things in celebration of this extra time!
These snake statues are something I'd been vaguely planning on for the Year of the Snake (I don't get all of my yearly projects done, ever! Usually I aim for the statues in the middle of the year because I know I won't get everything done by the beginning...but I've only succeeded once before with the cows!), and since we got extra time, I finished them up (I was trying to finish them up to release mid event, but man, PBR adds a lot of time to the entire process). Texture change with four stone types, each with snowy and mossy options as well as just stone, the statues are a matched pair on top of pillars, just the stone snakes, and just the individual pillars. There are unique textures for left and right- but you can secretly use the textures from the opposite side by switch the "l" and "r" at the end of the names (tell it it's left, and it'll use the left textures, tell it it's right, it'll use the right textures!), the textures will be flipped in the opposite direction on the other side (including the pillars). It's not a bad idea for bandwidth and speedier textures, but it might be something you notice, so I've left the choice up to you! Optional PBR and fallback textures for all options.
And there are two more gifts! There is a souvenir Daruma for Japonica, and these snow snakes! Piles of snow sort of made snake shaped-ish, also a matched pair like the statues.

The Cone of Shame, in animal lamp form, for this Uniquely Ugly Collabor88. The theme was difficult- very much the sort of thing that I love, and the more I think about, the less I understand why anyone would think was "ugly" to begin with, so deciding on a thing was next to impossible!
19 bright and pop-y plastics to choose from, touch on and off (touch and hold for 5 seconds to set an access list to limit who can turn it on and off, if you need such a thing, to limit to just you, members of the group it is set to, or anyone). Mirrored version included so you have both sides to face any direction you need. There is a projector light on the basic version- it's a separate prim linked in there (sort of hard to find, made as little as possible to keep it out of the way!)- that casts the circular light out of the shade, and there's a soft glow on the lamp itself. The (no cast light) versions do not have those light sources, so they will not conflict with your lighting scheme, but will light up the bulb and glow the shade. Light is editable- edit while on to set the light color by changing the color of the bulb in Blinn-Phong texture space (it's accessible to everyone!), then touch it twice to turn off and on and it'll set allll the light bits. You can also edit the radius, intensity, etc. by editing the light sources- they will remember all settings when turned off and back on, so if you need more or less light!
1 LI each lamp, all include optional PBR textures with fallbacks (you can choose PBR with fallback textures, or to use the Blinn-Phong style textures in a PBR viewer). The lightbulb and metal fixture are both set to PBR, but you can remove the PBR texture to uncover the fallback textures in non PBR versions if you desire (they are less reactionary to the environment without PBR- PBR glass is pretty great though, when it works, and this time it actually works). Remember to do that in a copy!

I'm a little late on saying anything about this- Katakana Shrine is welcoming people for the New Year, as it does. I've already been on my first shrine visit of the year, as well as traveling the entire Goshuin Project for New Year 2025 (see my travels on tumblr) to prepare for this Year of the Snake. But, as I do, I've also set out a few free gifts at Katakana Shrine to go alongside the gifts and lucky boards that feature in the new year celebrations.

and snake daruma dolls in 2 colors. There is also a snake kokeshi doll, using the HBS kokeshi base, which is also a gift there, with templates to make your own!
